Current Situation
The Dzongkhag Forestry Sector is comprised of seven staff 2 in Dzongkhag and 5 Forestry Officials in RNR-Extension Centers, delivering decentralized forestry activities to the rural farmers ensuring to fulfill the 10th Five Year Plan objectives of poverty reduction and National objectives of maintaining 60% forest coverage at all time.

Community Forest
At present there are 6 approved community forest in total they are as follows;
1. Tsangkha Commuinty Forest area of 105.00 acres with 25 households
2. Welling community Forest area of 73.80 acres with 12 households
3. Mongpa Community Forest for NWFP Development area of 1482.45 acres with 45 households
4. Samcholing Community forest area of 1580.00acres with 190 households
5. Tangsibji Community Forest area of 571.60 acres with 77 households
6. Nabji Community Forest area of 293.25 acres with 45 households
Private and CFMG Nursery
There are 5 nurseries in total owned by individuals and Community for the purpose of tree seedling production they are as follows;
1. Karma Tshering Private Nursery at Langthel
2. CFMG Nursery for Cane & Bamboo at Langthel
3. Yeshi Nidup Private Nursery at Tangsibji
4. Norbu Wangdi Private Nursery Tangsibji
5. Tshewang Norbu Private Nursery, Tangsibji
