The Dzongkhag Dratsang is located inside the dzong. Headed by the Lam Neten there is a total number of 254 monks currently residing inside the Dzong as per the record of the Trongsa Dratsang Rabday.
The monks of Trongsa Dratshang Rabdey are responsible for the festival performed in the Trongsa Dzong. The festival includes: 1. Lhamo Dromchoe 2. Gembo Dromchoe 3. Trongsa Tshechu 4. Tshepamey Wang.
Trongsa Dratshang Rabdey spends nine month at Trongsa Dzong and three month is spent at the summer residence which is at Kurjee Lhakhang, Bumthang.
There are 26 numbers of lhakhangs inside the Dzong taken care by the Dratshang Rabdey and they are:-
